Strengthening Bilateral Ties - Ambassador of Qatar Meets with Caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan

Islamabad - 4 January 2024 (Adnan Hameed) : In a significant diplomatic encounter, Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, representing the State of Qatar, paid a courtesy call on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in Islamabad. During the meeting, Prime Minister Kakar underscored the robust and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Qatar. Expressing Pakistan’s eagerness to enhance collaboration across diverse domains, with a special focus on trade and investment, the Prime Minister conveyed warm regards to the Amir of Qatar. Highlighting Pakistan’s strategic emphasis on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, Prime Minister Kakar acknowledged the pivotal role played by the Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZA) in attracting investments from Gulf countries, including Qatar. He encouraged Ambassador Al-Khater to explore opportunities for cooperation in burgeoning sectors such as tourism and media. The Prime Minister also commended Qatar for its diplomatic endeavors that contributed to a temporary ceasefire in Gaza. Stressing the importance of collective efforts by the international community, particularly the Muslim Ummah, Prime Minister Kakar urged for concerted actions to bring lasting peace to Palestine. In a congratulatory note, Prime Minister Kakar acknowledged Ambassador Al-Khater's pivotal role in diplomatic relations between the two nations. This meeting marked the Ambassador's first official call on the Prime Minister since presenting credentials in November. Prime Minister Kakar expressed optimism that Ambassador Al-Khater’s tenure would further fortify the bonds of friendship and collaboration between Pakistan and Qatar. As both nations look ahead, this meeting sets the stage for enhanced cooperation, cementing their commitment to mutual prosperity.
