Dawood University Distributes Laptops to 210 Students

Islamabad - 10 November, 2023 - (Nasir Abbas): Dawood University of Engineering and Technology hosted a simple yet dignified ceremony on Friday at the university's seminar hall to distribute laptops to 210 students as part of the Prime Minister's Youth Laptop Scheme 2023. The event was graced by the special presence of Engr. Muhammad Najeeb Haroon, Chairman of the Pakistan Engineering Council, along with distinguished guests including Federal Ministry of Planning and Special Initiatives Project Director and Head of Project Wing, Engr. Amir Zamir Ahmed Khan, and Director of the Federal Higher Education Commission, Javed Mehmood. The ceremony was attended by a significant number of faculty members, administrative staff, and students, including the Vice Chancellor of Dawood University, Engr. Prof. Dr. Samreen Hussain (T.I), and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Abdul Wahid Bhutto. As part of the event, 50 outstanding students from various departments at Dawood University were honored with laptops through the presence of esteemed Chief and honorary guests. Speaking at the ceremony, Javed Mehmood emphasized that providing laptops to young students is their right, not a favor, and expressed hope that these laptops will enable students to become part of creative initiatives. He also announced that in the coming days, hundreds more laptops will be distributed. Furthermore, he praised the leadership of Dawood University for its commitment to the cause of empowering young minds. He noted that the initiatives taken by Dr. Samreen Hussain are highly effective and substantial, and under her guidance, Dawood University is expected to make significant progress. Engr. Amir Zamir Ahmed Khan, while addressing the audience, emphasized the importance of giving the youth the lead in Pakistan's development. He mentioned that projects are being initiated by the Ministry of Planning for the betterment of the youth to ensure a smoother path to progress. Engineers are the architects of the nation, and we should take pride in that, he added. As a Chief Guest at the ceremony, Engr. Muhammad Najeeb Haroon, Chairman of the Pakistan Engineering Council, highlighted the potential and capabilities of the country's young students. He stated that the youth is our most valuable asset, and guiding them towards progress is our responsibility. Dawood University has provided excellent services in the field of engineering, and we should be proud of it. Vice Chancellor of Dawood University, Engr. Prof. Dr. Samreen Hussain, expressed her gratitude to the esteemed guests for their support and collaboration with the university in this initiative. She emphasized that Dawood University is committed to providing facilities to its students and is making rapid progress in all fields. We are working on various projects that will be of great benefit to the nation. In the closing moments of the ceremony, the remaining 160 students were presented with laptops, continuing Dawood University's commitment to empowering the youth.
