CISS AJK Hosts National Conference on Kashmir Conflict, Peace, and Stability

Muzaffarabad - February 28, 2025 (Connect Pakistan) : The Centre for International Strategic Studies, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (CISS AJK) organized a high-level national conference titled “27th February: An Affirmation of Pakistan’s Resolve to the Kashmir Conflict, Peace, and Stability.” The event marked the anniversary of Pakistan’s Operation Swift Retort in 2019, which countered Indian aggression by downing two Indian fighter jets and capturing an Indian pilot. The conference featured prominent speakers, including AJK Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq (Keynote Speaker), Acting AJK President Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Sarfraz Sattar, Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Syed Shahab Shahid, Parliamentary Kashmir Committee Chairman Rana Qasim Muhammad Noon, and Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora. Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja (CISS AJK) highlighted global geopolitical shifts, AI’s growing role, and alleged Western favoritism toward India in defense technologies. She emphasized that tactical superiority is more crucial than numerical strength. Acting AJK President Chaudhry Latif Akbar criticized global capitalism for prioritizing economic interests over human suffering in Kashmir and Palestine. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmiris. Minister Ramesh Singh Arora accused India of systemic minority oppression and praised Pakistan for protecting religious minorities. He described February 27, 2019, as a defining moment for Pakistan. Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Syed Shahab Shahid linked India’s policies to Kautilyan strategic culture and RSS ideology, accusing India of cross-border terrorism and regional destabilization. He emphasized Pakistan’s Quid Pro Quo Plus military strategy. Rana Qasim Muhammad Noon reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to defending its territorial integrity and Kashmir’s right to self-determination. Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Sarfraz Sattar called for resisting misinformation on Kashmir, accused India of false flag operations, and urged Pakistan to remain steadfast in its cause. The event drew a significant audience, including policymakers, academics, students, and media representatives, fostering meaningful discussions on regional security and strategic affairs.
