Certified Cloud Applied Generative AI initiative to train 30,000 IT students: Ambassador Masood Khan

Washington D.C - 24 May 2024 (Nasir Abbas): Pakistan's IT sector receives a significant boost with the launch of the "Certified Cloud Applied Generative AI" initiative aimed at training 30,000 IT students, engineers, and professionals. Spearheaded under the Sindh Governor's initiative, this program focuses on imparting practical training to upgrade skills in emerging technologies. A delegation of IT entrepreneurs, including Hira Khan, Adil Khan, and Nadeem Sheikh, conveyed this development during their meeting with Ambassador Masood Khan at the Embassy of Pakistan. Highlighting their extensive contributions, Ms. Hira Khan informed the Ambassador about their previous efforts, which have already trained over 1 million individuals across Pakistan in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Internet of Things, and Cloud Native Computing. In addition to skill development, the delegation emphasized the compilation of a database of trained IT experts in Pakistan to foster connections with Pakistani-American tech entrepreneurs, particularly in Silicon Valley. Furthermore, plans are underway to establish a Tech National Incubation Centre in Karachi and other regions of Pakistan, aimed at nurturing innovation and fostering the manufacturing of low-cost software engineering products for export to the United States. Addressing the delegation, Nadeem Sheikh, Supreme Court Lawyer and Head of Justice Helpline International, shed light on the organization's efforts to provide pro-bono legal services and aid repatriation for destitute Pakistanis, highlighting its plans to confer awards titled "Nishan-e-Justice" to top Pakistani-Americans across various fields in the US. Ambassador Masood Khan commended the initiatives undertaken by IT entrepreneurs, acknowledging Pakistan's impressive growth in the tech sector, particularly in fintech and healthtech. He noted the surge in Pakistan's IT exports, which reached $4 billion, and discussed the potential for further collaboration with the US in the IT and tech sectors. Highlighting the presence of leading international IT corporations in Pakistan and the country's role as a potential manufacturing hub, Ambassador Khan urged the delegation to scale up their investments and programs. He assured full support from the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C. and all of Pakistan's Consulates in the US to facilitate this growth.
