Cultural Fusion: Governor of Sindh & Ethiopian Ambassador Launches Ethiopian Tourism Desk at Karachi Feast

Islamabad - 22 December 2023 (Adnan Hameed) : In a momentous ceremony held at Karachi Feast, H.E. Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, the Governor of Sindh, and H.E. Jemal Beker Abdula, the Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan, jointly inaugurated the Ethiopian Tourism Desk on Friday, December 22, 2023. This significant event, set to conclude on December 24, 2023, drew a diverse audience, including Honorary Consul H.E. Ibrahim Tawab, members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, the business community, media, and representatives from civil society. The Ethiopian Tourism Desk, a mesmerizing pavilion, showcased Ethiopia's multifaceted culture, rich heritage, and unparalleled tourism offerings, serving as a testament to the enduring bond between Ethiopia and Pakistan. Addressing the media, Governor Tessori underscored the longstanding relations between the two nations, rooted in shared history, values, culture, and religion. He commended Ambassador Abdula for his tireless efforts in fortifying bilateral relations, acknowledging the impactful presence of the Ethiopian Embassy in Pakistan established just a year ago. Governor Tessori expressed gratitude to the Government of Ethiopia for the launch of Ethiopian Airlines in Karachi, a crucial link connecting Pakistan with the entire African continent. He affirmed his commitment to elevating the relations between the two countries to new heights. Ambassador Abdula, in his address, emphasized how the Ethiopian Embassy had effectively brought Africa closer to Pakistan through the commencement of Ethiopian Airlines operations in Karachi. Describing Ethiopia as a land of breathtaking beauty, abundant natural resources, picturesque landscapes, lakes, mountains, and over 16 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, he urged the people of Karachi to savor the Ethiopian experience through Ethiopian coffee available at the tourism desk. The Ambassador highlighted that this experience would serve as a bridge connecting Karachi residents with their ancestral roots, emphasizing Ethiopia as the land of King Nejashi and Bilal Habeshi. This inauguration marks a pivotal moment in the diplomatic and cultural relations between Ethiopia and Pakistan, promising a deeper understanding and appreciation of each other's rich heritage.
