Prime Minister Sharif Extends Formal Invitation to President Yoon Suk Yeol for Pakistan Visit during meeting with Korean Ambassador

Islamabad - 13 May 2024 (Adnan Hameed): The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Pakistan Park Kijun met with Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to discuss bilateral cooperation and strengthen ties between the two nations. During the meeting, Ambassador Park conveyed warm congratulations on behalf of the Korean leadership to Prime Minister Sharif upon his re-election. In turn, Prime Minister Sharif expressed gratitude for the well-wishes and reiterated Pakistan's commitment to further enhancing bilateral relations. Highlighting the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Korea, Prime Minister Sharif underscored the significance of collaboration in trade and investment, dating back to the early 1960s. He commended Korea's remarkable journey towards becoming a modern, technologically advanced economy and expressed Pakistan's eagerness to learn from Korea's experience in industrialization, SME sector growth, and advancements in IT, including artificial intelligence. Pakistan's Prime Minister Sharif proposed the exchange of business delegations between Seoul and Islamabad, pledging to facilitate discussions on existing Korean investments in Pakistan and explore new opportunities for cooperation. Furthermore, Prime Minister Sharif extended an official invitation to President Yoon Suk Yeol to visit Pakistan, further strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations. The Ambassador Park expressed the Korean government's keen interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, IT, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
