Brigadier General Braimah fosters ties on Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day 2024 in a prestigious Islamabad reception

Islamabad - 18 January 2024 (Adnan Hameed): In a grand reception hosted by Defence Adviser Brigadier General Oseni Omoh Braimah and his spouse, distinguished guests gathered to commemorate the Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day. Vice Admiral Abid Hameed Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Material), graced the occasion as the chief guest. High commissioners, ambassadors, senior military officers, defence advisers, and attachés from various countries, including Charge d’Affairs of the High Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Islamabad, Babagana Ahmadu, and the acting Dean of the diplomatic corps & Ambassador of Morocco, Mohamed Karmoune, added prestige to the event. Brigadier General Oseni Omoh Braimah expressed gratitude for the collaboration with friendly nations, emphasizing Pakistan Armed Forces' pivotal role in building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria. He paid tribute to fallen comrades, acknowledging the Nigerian Armed Forces' evolution from a humble constabulary force to a modern tri-service entity. Highlighting contributions to global stability, he praised Nigerian troops' efforts in liberating West African countries and ongoing peacekeeping in The Gambia and Guinea Bissau. The celebration aimed to project the Nigerian Armed Forces as a force for regional stability, national pride, unity, and development. Braimah recognized Pakistan's unwavering support in addressing terrorism threats, noting successful efforts against Boko Haram. The annual Armed Forces Remembrance Day, observed on January 15th, serves to honor fallen heroes and commemorate the end of the Nigerian civil war. General Oseni Omoh Braimah lauded Pakistan's collaboration in training, exercises, equipment maintenance, and the induction of advanced platforms like the Super Mushshak trainer aircraft and JF 17 Thunder Fighter. Acknowledging support from various countries, he emphasized their role in enabling Nigeria's Armed Forces to adapt to evolving security challenges.
