Corps Commanders' Conference Concludes with Firm Commitments

Rawalpindi - 28 December 2023 (Nasir Abbas): General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), presided over the two-day-long 261st Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at GHQ, reaffirming the commitment of the Pakistan Army to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation. The conference paid solemn tribute to the Shuhadas, honoring the sacrifices of Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Citizens who laid down their lives for peace and stability. A special Fateha was offered for the Shuhadas, including those affected by the recent DI Khan attack. Expressing serious concern over human rights violations in IIOJK by Indian military forces, the Forum unequivocally condemned acts of abduction, torture, and killing of civilians. The Pakistan Army reiterates its unwavering support for the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination, pledging political, moral, and diplomatic backing in accordance with international law and relevant UNSC resolutions. Addressing the prevailing geo-strategic environment, the Forum discussed national security challenges and the evolving threat landscape. The presence of terrorist sanctuaries and the availability of advanced weapons to proscribed groups, particularly the TTP, in a neighboring country were identified as serious concerns impacting Pakistan's security. The Forum resolved to confront all terrorists and their supporters, working on behalf of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan, with the full might of the state. Expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine, the Forum condemned human rights violations and war crimes in Gaza. The Government's stance, demanding an immediate ceasefire and a peaceful resolution of the conflict, was reiterated. The conference also affirmed support for socioeconomic growth and foreign investment through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). A holistic review of actions against smuggling, money laundering, power theft, and hoarding of essential items was conducted. The Pakistan Army pledged continued support to government institutions and LEAs, with additional assistance extended to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the upcoming general elections. COAS emphasized the need for operational excellence, urging continuous maintenance of high standards in motivation, training, and preparedness. The Corps Commanders' Conference concluded with a resolute commitment to safeguarding Pakistan's security and promoting regional stability.
