China XPCC Delegation Strengthens Cultural Ties with Pakistan: Meeting with Culture Minister Jamal Shah

Islamabad - (Adnan Hameed): A delegation from the China Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC), led by Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Political Commissioner Mr. Liu Jianming, engaged in a significant meeting with Jamal Shah, Interim Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, at the Heritage Division on Tuesday. The discussions centered on fortifying cultural connections between Pakistan and China, with Minister Jamal Shah commending China's visionary leadership under President Xi Jinping. Emphasizing the robust bond between the two nations, Shah encouraged Chinese investment in Pakistan's historical heritage sites, citing Takht-e-Bahi as an example. Shah articulated, "Our collaboration through people-to-people contacts and artistic bridges, such as cultural exchange, will elevate our friendship to unprecedented levels of resilience and endurance." Highlighting the profound friendship between Pakistan and China, Shah stated, "It is higher than mountains, deeper than the ocean, sweeter than honey, and stronger than steel." He underscored the upcoming showcase of this friendship through art and cultural heritage. Minister Jamal Shah revealed plans for the second China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) cultural caravan, aimed at fostering economic ties and fortifying cultural bonds among Pakistan, China, and Central Asian States. This caravan will feature diverse groups of Pakistani, Chinese, and Central Asian artists, musicians, photographers, anthropologists, writers, and filmmakers. XPCC Deputy Party Secretary Liu Jianming expressed the historical significance of cultural exchanges, emphasizing the pivotal role of agriculture, tourism, and culture in enhancing people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and China. He affirmed that cooperation in these sectors would further strengthen the exceptional friendship between the two nations. The distinguished delegation included key members such as Tian Yonghao, Director-General of Bureau of Agricultural and Rural Affairs of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and Wang Zibin, Director-General of Bureau of Culture, Physical Education, Radio, Television, and Tourism, among others. The meeting marked a pivotal moment in deepening the cultural collaboration between Pakistan and China, fostering mutual understanding and goodwill.
