President of Pakistan Receives Diplomatic Credentials from Ambassadors of Seven Countries

Islamabad - 15 July 2024 (Adnan Hameed): The Ambassadors from seven nations formally presented their diplomatic credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari during a ceremony held in Islamabad today. The credentials were presented by the Ambassador-designate of Zimbabwe, Mr. Titus Mehliswa Jonathan Abu-Basutu; Ambassador-designate of Tajikistan, Mr. Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir; High Commissioner-designate of Rwanda, Ms. Harerimana Fatou; Ambassador-designate of Argentina, Mr. Sebastian Sayus; Ambassador-designate of Myanmar, Mr. Wunna Han; Ambassador-designate of Cambodia, Mr. Sok Chea; and Ambassador-designate of Botswana to Pakistan, Dr. Batlang Comma Serema. Following the credentials ceremony, President Zardari held individual meetings with each Ambassador. During these discussions, the President emphasized Pakistan’s investment potential and encouraged foreign nations to capitalize on the country’s investment-friendly environment. President Zardari highlighted key sectors for investment, including agriculture, livestock, information technology, energy, and mining. He expressed Pakistan’s desire to enhance cooperation with friendly countries across various fields, particularly in trade, investment, and culture. The President underscored the importance of expanding economic cooperation and maximizing trade volumes with friendly nations. He also stressed the need for increased interaction among business communities to strengthen economic and trade relations. Congratulating the envoys on their appointments, President Zardari expressed confidence that they would contribute to furthering mutually beneficial cooperation between their respective countries and Pakistan. Upon their arrival at the President House in Islamabad, the envoys were honored with a guard of honor by a contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
