Palestine-Pakistan Ties Strengthened: Nader Alturk Receives Prestigious Award
Islamabad - 16 November 2024 (Connect Pakistan): Nader Khamis Hafez Alturk, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Palestine to Pakistan, has been honoured with the prestigious Global Ambassador Award 2024 in recognition of his outstanding efforts in strengthening bilateral ties with Pakistan.
The Diplomatic Insight, awarded the diplomat with the 6th Global Ambassador Award for his groundbreaking contributions to bringing the two nations closer together at bilateral, regional, and multilateral forums within a short period of time.
The 6th Global Ambassador Awards Ceremony 2024 took place in Islamabad, with the presence of Ambassadors, diplomatic corps, Parliamentarians, government officials, business leaders, academics, media, and civil society members.
Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Chairperson of the Diplomatic Insight Group, welcomed distinguished guests and underscored the organization’s commitment to promoting global collaboration and diplomacy.
Nader Khamis Hafez Alturk, born in Gaza City, has a deeply personal connection to the Palestinian cause. His family, originally from Beersheba, was displaced to Gaza in 1948 and, more recently, lost their home in the ongoing conflict. This experience fuels his dedication to his homeland and his career as a diplomat. With advanced studies in international law, history, and political science, Ambassador Alturk has served in various key roles.
Before joining the Embassy in Pakistan in 2014, he was Deputy Head of Mission in Beijing, where he played a significant role in China’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.
In Pakistan, he has focused on strengthening Palestinian-Pakistani ties, building strong connections with media, civil society, and research institutions.
Alturk has shared the Palestinian story widely, participating in countless interviews, seminars, and conferences, raising awareness about the Palestinian struggle and the shared bond between Pakistan and Palestine.
One of his recent achievements was organizing a Palestinian pavilion at Lok Mela, Pakistan’s largest cultural festival. Supported by Pakistan’s Minister of Culture, this pavilion celebrated the cultural connection between the two nations and highlighted Jerusalem’s significance for Muslims worldwide.
Alturk has made significant contribution in strengthening cultural, economic, and educational ties and is evident in his support for Palestinian students and his vision of mutual exchange between Palestine and Pakistan.
