Pakistan Preparing for Champions Trophy 2025; Some Matches May Be Relocated, Says PCB Chairman

Islamabad - 20 August 2024 (Adnan Hameed) : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistan are currently preparing for the Champions Trophy 2025 but there are chances that some matches of the marquee event will be shifted due to security concerns. Earlier, PCB shifted the second Test match against Bangladesh which was supposed to be played at National Stadium in Karachi. They have changed the venue because the stadium is under preparation for the upcoming event. On the other hand, BCCI have yet to take a call on weather to send team India to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 citing players security. Naqvi said that the cricket board is actively coordinating with the security agencies for the tournament. He also said that their major task is renovating stadiums because the facilities are not up to standard and are significantly behind global benchmarks. Pakistan will now host Bangladesh for the two Test match series scheduled to start from August 21 and both the matches will be played at Rawalpindi Stadium.
