Islamabad - 12 May 2024 (Adnan Hameed) : The 2nd Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Nation’s Volleyball League 2024 kicks off in Islamabad, igniting enthusiasm across the capital city. Amidst great anticipation, six powerhouse teams, including Iran, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and hosts Pakistan, converge to compete for top honors in the Central Zone. Distinguished guests, including Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, are set to grace the opening ceremony, promising an electrifying start to the tournament. Team captains, with the exception of Afghanistan, unveiled the coveted CAVA Nation’s Volleyball League Trophy in Islamabad, setting the stage for an intense battle for glory. The Liaqat Gymnasium at Pakistan Sports Complex will witness gripping matches, starting with Iran vs. Turkmenistan and Pakistan vs. Afghanistan, followed by Kyrgyzstan vs. Sri Lanka, delivering a spectacle of athleticism to eager fans. Ch Mohammad Yaqoob, Chairman of Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), underscores the event's significance, highlighting upcoming international tournaments, including Australia's historic visit and participation in the Challenge Cup in Bahrain. Yaqoob urges fans to seize the opportunity to witness live action at the gymnasium, extending gratitude to the government for steadfast support under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's leadership.
