12th Kazakhstan-Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission Concludes with Historic Cultural Exchange

Islamabad - (Adnan Hameed) : The two-day 12th meeting of the Kazakhstan-Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation (JIC) marked a significant milestone in diplomatic relations. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Yerzhan Kistafin, took the opportunity to unveil a cultural bridge between the two nations. In an unprecedented move, Ambassador Kistafin presented "The Book of Words" by Abai Kunanbai, a revered Kazakh thinker, translated into four official languages of Pakistan's provinces – Pashto, Punjabi, Sindhi, and Balochi. This linguistic endeavor, a testament to cultural collaboration, was spearheaded by the Embassy and executed in partnership with the National University of Modern Languages (NUML). Further enriching the cultural exchange, a Kazakh-Urdu-English phrasebook was introduced. This practical guide, developed through the collaboration of NUML and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, aims to foster linguistic understanding and strengthen ties between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Pakistan. The ceremony, attended by heads and members of both the Kazakh and Pakistani delegations, featured the ceremonial presentation of these publications. H.E. Mr. Y. Kistafin expressed optimism about the positive impact this cultural initiative will have on the bilateral relationship, emphasizing the role of shared literature and language in fostering deeper connections between nations. The event concluded with a spirit of camaraderie, highlighting the importance of cultural exchange in diplomatic relations. The 12th JIC meeting not only advanced economic and technical cooperation but also laid the foundation for a stronger and more enriched partnership between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
