Promote freedom of expression and safety for journalists in Pakistan
Islamabad(Nasir Abbas)The Denish Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E Jakob Linulf along with the Pakistan Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Shehbaz Sharif, participated in the event organized by the Danish organization IMS (International Media Support) to mark 10 years of the United Nations’ Plan of Action in Pakistan. The event aimed to promote freedom of expression and safety for journalists in Pakistan one of the most important pillars of a democratic state. During the address, Danish Ambassador Jakob Linulf congratulated Pakistan for its remarkable step to legislate on the safety of journalists, the first in Asia, and said, "Pakistan has great potential for socio-development and economic progress. This potential will be nurtured through continued attention to media freedom and the inclusion of plural voices, views, and perspectives. This will increase demand for sustainable development and citizen's inclusion in policy making" The event was attended by Pakistani journalists, human rights experts, and representatives of national and international organizations.
