Pakistan and UAE Leaders Strengthen Ties and Unlock Billions in Investments

Islamabad - 27 November 2023 (Adnan Hameed) : Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, convened in Abu Dhabi for a historic bilateral meeting. In the presence of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), the leaders celebrated the enduring ties between Pakistan and the UAE. The summit emphasized the historical bond between the nations, with a commitment to deepen strategic cooperation and dialogue. Prime Minister Kakar expressed profound gratitude for the UAE’s consistent support in economic and financial domains, acknowledging the pivotal role of the 1.8 million-strong Pakistani community in the UAE. Global concerns, especially the human rights situation in occupied Palestine, were addressed during the meeting. Prime Minister Kakar reiterated Pakistan’s support for a just resolution aligned with international law and relevant United Nations and OIC resolutions. The highlight of the summit was the signing of crucial Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering Energy, Port Operations Projects, Waste Water Treatment, Food Security, Logistics, Minerals, and Banking & Financial Services. These transformative agreements are poised to attract multi-billion dollar investments from the UAE into Pakistan, heralding a new era of economic collaboration. Prime Minister Kakar described the MoU signings as a diplomatic triumph, solidifying the foundation for an enhanced economic partnership between Pakistan and the UAE.
