Korean National Foundation Day and 76th Armed Forces Day kicked off in Islamabad

Islamabad - 25 October 2024 (Adnan Hameed) : The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Islamabad held a grand reception to commemorate the National Foundation Day and the 76th Anniversary of the Korean Armed Forces Day. The event was celebrated with great enthusiasm, starting with a rendition of the Korean national anthem by a renowned Korean artist, followed by the Pakistani national anthem, performed by a group of Korean children, which was met with resounding applause and appreciation. Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, honored the occasion as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished attendees included Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Kareem Kundi, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan and the Members from the National Assembly, Senate and members of the diplomatic corps, prominent business figures, and representatives from the media. In his opening remarks, the Korean Ambassador to Pakistan, Park Kijun, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and other attendees. Ambassador Park mentioned that the Republic of Korea, with its wealth of experience and technological advancement, stands ready to support and partake in Pakistan’s endeavors to take the friendship to the next level but it is not possible without the support of the Government of Pakistan. He further mentioned that the Embassy of the Republic of Korea is celebrating the 2024 K-Week in Islamabad, including 2024 Korea-Pakistan Cultural Gala in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting which will be held at the Liaquat Gymnasium on October 23rd, 2024 and the Korea-Pakistan Movie Day which will be held on October 24th, 2024 and the 17th Korean Ambassador Senior National Cadet National Taekwondo Championship which will be held on October 25th, 2024. The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea shared that he is optimistic regarding the future of the bilateral relations between Korea and Pakistan and he is hopeful that the two nations will continue to strengthen their ties through culture, art, literature and music. Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Riaz Hussain Pirzada congratulated Korea on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan. He praised the strong diplomatic relations between the two nations and emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation in various sectors. The event also featured captivating performances by Korean opera singer Ms. Heemin Kim and a mesmerizing Taekwondo demonstration by a group of Korean martial artists, which earned widespread acclaim from the audience.
