Home Economics Exhibition held at KCW to showcase the creative abilities of students

Islamabad (Adnan Hameed): A home economics exhibition was held at Kauthar College for Women H-8/2 Islamabad on March 4, 2023 in which a large number of students participated and introduced their skills. The Ambassador of Iraq H.E Mr. Hamed Abbas Lafta was attended the event as a Chief Guest. Ms. Zakia Batool Najfi, Principal Kauthar College for Women warmly welcomed the Iraqi Ambassador and presented him with a bouquet of flowers. He was also given a briefing regarding the various stalls set up by the college students. In this exhibition, artworks were created on the following five topics related to the subject. These included Food and Nutrition, Art and Design, Human Development and Family Studies, Interior Decoration, Textiles and Clothing. Curricular and extracurricular projects were included in the exhibition to promote Home Economics at the HSSC level and to attract students to the breadth and importance of humanities. The guest related to arts and crafts participated in the exhibition, including Ms. Sadaf Asim Sr. Vice President of Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Zahra Hussain, famous cartographer and artist, Ms. Zalekha, Ustad NCA and other well-known personalities. The participants said that highlighting the importance of humanities in the present age is very important for the survival of the cultural and family foundations of the society. On this occasion, the talented students of Kahusar Collage for women have been demonstrating their skills in scientific subjects for the past several years, the college has organized to bring out the skills of children related to social sciences and other arts. Talking to the correspondent Connect Pakistan, the students said that they are very happy to participate in curricular activities as well as extracurricular activities and they have been given the opportunity to showcase their art related works. Nida Fatima, a second year student expertly sketched elephants on fabric cushions, as she loved animals very much. In this project, her fellow student Mehnaz Fatima also made a picture of birds on a cloth cushion. Apart from this, another talented student talked in detail about the artworks of her paintings. She further informed that painting is her passion and it took two days to complete a painting. Naina Batool cites her handmade "Dry Flower Decoration". She made beautifully unique vases and file covers using fruit kernels, walnuts, almonds, pulses, peanut shells with great skill. Students Maryam Zahra and Razia Zainab was also briefed in detail to our correspondent about truck art, colorful painting on clay pots, table management, file management and other art related items. These students were in a view that they will continue their hobbies in the future even after completion of their degrees
