Victory Day Reception in Islamabad Honors Azerbaijan’s Historic Achievements

Islamabad - (Adnan Hameed) : The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Pakistan hosted a commemorative reception marking the anniversary of Victory Day, celebrated annually on November 8. The event brought together Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, as the chief guest, alongside members of parliament, foreign diplomats, business representatives, civil and military officials, journalists, and Azerbaijani citizens residing in Pakistan. The celebration commenced with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Pakistan, symbolizing the strong bond between the two nations. In his address, Khazar Farhadov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, highlighted the significance of Victory Day, marking the historic triumph of Azerbaijan. He also underscored the growing bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and noted that Baku will soon host COP29, an event that is expected to welcome thousands of delegates from across the globe. Chief guest Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada extended heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Azerbaijan, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to furthering the longstanding friendship and collaboration with Azerbaijan. "Pakistan and Azerbaijan are brotherly nations," Pirzada remarked, "and our partnership will continue to flourish across diverse sectors." The event featured multimedia presentations showcasing Azerbaijan’s victorious history and the extensive reconstruction and development efforts in territories recently liberated. Attendees were moved by the visuals illustrating the nation’s resilience and growth. A commemorative cake was cut by the chief guest, Minister Pirzada, joined by Governor Sindh Kamran Tesori and Ambassador Farhadov, to celebrate Azerbaijan's Victory Day. The event concluded with warm exchanges, underscoring the deep-rooted friendship between the people of Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
