Pakistan's President Affirms Commitment to Long-Term Partnership with Russia

Islamabad - 23 November 2023 (Adnan Hameed) : President Dr Arif Alvi, in a meeting with the outgoing Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Mr Danila Ganich, at Aiwan-e-Sadr, reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to establishing a long-term, multi-dimensional partnership with Russia. The President underscored the importance of collaboration in various sectors, including trade, economy, food security, energy, defence, and people-to-people contacts. Emphasizing the need to boost bilateral trade and economic ties, President Alvi highlighted the vast potential for growth and cooperation in trade and economy, aiming for mutual benefits for both nations. He welcomed the Ambassador, expressing Pakistan's high regard for its relations with the Russian Federation and acknowledging the satisfactory level of cooperation between the two countries at multilateral forums. President Alvi emphasized that the foundation of Pakistan-Russia cooperation lies in their shared commitment to the centrality of the United Nations and a rule-based international order. The discussion also touched upon the current situation in Gaza, with the President condemning the reported brutalities inflicted by Israel on the people of Palestine. He expressed deep concern over the loss of lives, including women and children, healthcare professionals, journalists, and aid workers. Commending the outgoing Ambassador for his significant contributions to deepening bilateral ties, President Alvi extended his best wishes for Mr Danila Ganich's future endeavors. The President affirmed that Pakistan looks forward to further strengthening its enduring partnership with Russia across various domains.
