National Assembly First ever Summer internship program finalized with Model Parliament organized by Yong Interns

Islamabad - 4 Aug 2023: (Adnan Hameed): National Assembly Secretariat organised a simulated Parliament session for enthusiastic and talented young individuals on the final day of First Ever internship programme for young interns in Parliament House. The exercise was aimed to inspire and engage the future leaders of Pakistan in the democratic process. This would also fostering a sense of civic responsibility and encouraging involvement in public service by giving them a firsthand opportunity to work in a manner the National Assembly operates and how their Representatives dedicate themselves to the well-being of the people they serve.Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Raja Pervez Ashraf was also present during the session and witnessed the live proceedings. While addressing the Young Interns,Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has praised the exceptional performance showcased by the aspiring leaders of Pakistan. He remarked" I firmly believe that the young minds of our country hold the potential to lead the nation to new heights". The Speaker also emphasized that regardless of the situation, one should never lose hope, treat others with respect, and project a positive image of Pakistan wherever you go. He stressed on collective efforts and adherence to the law to take the country forward. At the end, Hon. Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf awarded certificates to the young and energetic interns of Summer Internship Program, acknowledging their dedication to democracy. Renowned and seasoned journalist Hafiz Tahir Khalil was also awarded certificate of appreciation in recognition of his unmatchable services in filed of journalism which spans more than fifty years and his attachment with parliament and democracy.
