First Lady of Pakistan, Samina Alvi, inaugurates the PFOWA Annual Charity Bazaar 2023
Islamabad - (Adnan Hameed): – The Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA) orchestrated the vibrant PFOWA Annual Charity Bazaar 2023, today. The event, held in collaboration with the Diplomatic Corps, witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the diplomatic community, distinguished civil society figures, and Ministry officials. The esteemed presence of the Honorable First Lady of Pakistan, Samina Alvi, added grace to the occasion as she attended as the chief guest. The bazaar unfolded as a delightful convergence of Diplomatic Missions’ stalls, prominent commercial brands, and an array of treasures – from delectable dishes to vibrant handicrafts and traditional artifacts. Artists representing various countries, organized by their respective missions, captivated the audience with colorful performances, showcasing the richness of their cultures. Ms. Samina Alvi, in her role as the chief guest, inaugurated the bazaar and emphasized the significance of raising awareness about breast cancer. She commended the diverse Diplomatic Missions' stalls and made a special visit to the Palestinian stall to convey condolences for the Gaza martyrs. Acknowledging the efforts of the organizers and diplomatic missions, Patron PFOWA, Ms. Shaista Jilani, President PFOWA, Ms. Shaza Syrus, and Foreign Secretary, Syrus Qazi, expressed gratitude in their remarks at the event. They underscored the importance of such charity events, which serve as a global platform uniting people from around the world for a noble cause.
