National Preparatory Committee Gears Up for Sochi Youth Festival in 2024

Islamabad - 4 November 2023 (Nasir Abbas): The National Preparatory Committee of Pakistan, Pashtoon Students Council, in collaboration with the Progressive Writers Associations (Intellectual Wing), held a meeting on Friday to prepare for the upcoming "Youth Festival" in Sochi, Russia, scheduled for March 2024. The theme of the festival is "Let's Shape the Future of World Youth Together: A Multipolar World for Peace, Prosperity, Sovereignty, Mutual Assistance, and Shared Global Values." On this occasion, President of Progressive, Amarlal Adv, who is also the Coordinator of the National Preparatory Committee (NPC), explained that the festival's main objective is to cultivate future youth leaders worldwide. He highlighted how the festival will promote unity and collaboration between global youth, Pakistani student delegations, and youth leaders. He further mentioned that the festival would welcome not only student delegations but also active youth leaders and experts. This significant event would gather hundreds of thousands of young people from various countries, featuring diverse cultural artists, entertainers, and speakers, all coming together to celebrate unity, love, and peace. The vibrant tapestry of colors, dances, and songs that represented various world cultures provided a sensory delight. Patron-in-Chief Dr. Shahid Hassan emphasized the significance and impact of the "Youth Festival" and shared his experiences from the Cuba Youth Festival, including a meeting with Yasir Arafat in Cuba. Farhat Fatima, the General Secretary of the Progressive Writers Associations (PWA) Intellectual Wing, in collaboration with the Preparatory Committee, announced plans to organize meetings and cultural programs across the country related to the "Youth Festival.” Additionally, she mentioned that PWA and NPC, in collaboration with the Pashtoon Student Council, will host the very first cultural program on November 5th. Dr. Shahid Hassan, the Patron-in-Chief, shared his experiences from Cuba's Youth Festival. Notable figures in attendance included Fahad Iqbal Dawar, Ghani Mashal, Tarique Baloch, Jawad Khan, Warsa Pirzado, Didag Baloch, Benish, Shafaque Minhas, and others who actively participated in the meeting. The gathering brought together members of the Democratic Students Federation of Pakistan (DSF), Progressive Students Federation, Baloch Students Organization (BSO), Pakhtoon Students Council, Kashmir Students Council, Punjab Students Council, Saraiki Students Council, cultural organizations like Lok Manjh, and various young journalists, climate experts, and emerging business leaders.
